Black Star Word Search app for iPhone and iPad

Black Star Word Search is a unique trivia and word search game based on African American history and culture. The app features three distinctive Play Solo modes and a Play Family or Friends mode. The app contains thousands of word search puzzles and trivia questions covering a vast array of topics including politics, sports, television, film, literature, history, civil rights, HBCUs, Greek-letter organizations, geography, and more.

There are three Play Solo Modes:

• Classic Mode
• Chill Mode
• Challenge Mode

Classic Mode:

In Classic Mode, the player is offered six topics from which to choose. Upon selection, a topic-related trivia question will appear. If the player answers the question correctly, bonus time to solve the word search puzzle will be awarded. The word search puzzle contains eight hidden words that the player must locate before time expires. As the number of consecutively solved puzzles increases, the player’s level will rise accordingly. As levels increase, the time allotted to solve the puzzle will decrease.
If the player is unable to locate all of the words in the puzzle within the allotted time, the player loses and will be returned to Level 1.

Chill Mode:

In Chill Mode, the player is provided with a puzzle featuring eight hidden words. The player can chill while solving the puzzle as the clock counts up instead of down, so a player may set their own goals. There are no trivia questions or levels in this mode.

Challenge Mode:

In Challenge Mode, the player is offered six topics from which to choose. Upon selection, a topic-related trivia question will appear. If the player answers the question correctly, bonus time to solve the word search puzzle will be awarded. The word search puzzle contains eight hidden words, however, the player is only presented one word at a time. The player must locate all eight words before time expires. As the number of consecutively solved puzzles increases, the player’s level will rise accordingly. As levels increase, the time allotted to solve the puzzle will decrease.
If the player is unable to locate all of the words within the allotted time, the player loses and will be returned to Level 1.

Family and Friends Mode:

Players can connect and play matches against family and friends. In a match, both players are presented with the same trivia question and the first player to answer correctly gets to select the match’s topic. The first player to locate all eight words wins the match.

Airplane Mode:

Airplane Mode offers a limited number of word search puzzles when a player is offline (not connected to the internet). All three Play Solo modes (Classic, Chill, Challenge) are available.

Player Profiles

Black Star Word Search offers the ability to create customized avatars with thousands of avatar combinations. Players may select from 35 unique avatar options, four skin tones, and a variety of hairstyles. Additional accessories provide additional customization and include eyeglasses, shades, shirts, blouses, earrings, sunglasses, and backgrounds.
Player profiles can be further customized with city, state, a city or national flag, or Greek-letters.
